ShopGirl takes on Houston and dresses with love

The cover of the recent ShopGirl City Guide. Yep, that's me.

For some four years, I've been writing the ShopGirl blog on Chron.com, in addition to my duties as the paper's fashion and beauty editor. I give scoops on new stores, great buys and provide some style and fashion news, as well as musings. So recently, we published the ShopGirl City Guide, a special section in the paper that details the shopping and dining options in a few of Houston's major retail areas. Hopefully, there will be more of these sections for areas I didn't get to cover. It was fun getting out and seeing what great shopping Houston has to offer. It was also pretty cool to see my image reflected in a beautiful watercolor print by Houston Chronicle artist Tanyia Johnson. She got it so right. It's exactly what I'd wear and how I dress like I'm in love.

Here are the Houston shopping areas included in the ShopGirl City Guide:

The Heights

Bellaire and Meyerland

West Ave

Highland Village

Rice Village

Galveston
